Last night, the GAD and Women Building illuminated in vibrant orange as the Municipality of Maco proudly joined the nationwide
OrangeIcon initiative in observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).
This annual tradition is more than a display of color—it is a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to advocate, protect, and support. The orange glow symbolizes hope, empowerment, and our collective commitment to ending all forms of violence against women and girls.
Through this illumination, the Municipal Gender and Development Resource and Coordinating Office reaffirms its dedication to raising awareness, strengthening community involvement, and championing a safe, inclusive, and VAW-free Maco.
Together, let us continue lighting the way toward a future where every woman and girl lives with dignity, respect, and freedom from violence.
