As a proud symbol of Davao de Oro’s golden offerings, reflecting its rich biodiversity, cultural distinctiveness, and hospitality, the DdO Landmark in Mawab was officially turned over today, June 24, 2025, in Barangay Salvacion, Mawab. This landmark embodies the vision of
Governor Dorothy "Dotdot" M. Gonzaga to elevate the province’s tourism appeal by creating iconic attractions that greet and captivate locals and travelers.
Thoughtfully conceptualized and masterfully brought to life by Mr. Raffy Quimba, a renowned local artist, the landmark’s design not only reflects the natural wealth and artistry of Davao de Oro but also serves as a welcoming beacon for guests, tourists, and passersby journeying through this part of the province.
The ceremonial turnover was attended by Hon. Monique Bryan Gonzaga, Barangay Captain of Poblacion, Mawab, representing Governor Gonzaga; Ms. Christine T. Dompor, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer of PAO-Tourism; Mr. Roland Gallano, Supervising Administrative Officer of PEO; Mr. Hester Oliver, Tourism Officer of Mawab; along with other stakeholders and personnel whose collaborative efforts made this project a reality.
In his message, Hon. Gonzaga extended heartfelt gratitude to all individuals and offices that contributed to the successful completion of the landmark. He underscored its significance, noting that this artistic structure now stands as a proud marker—warmly welcoming visitors and symbolizing the identity, aspirations, and unity of the province.
The DdO Landmark in Mawab is more than just a visual attraction; it represents the province’s continuous commitment to tourism development and cultural preservation, fostering pride among its people while leaving a lasting impression on those who pass through its gateway.
